Migration Pathway Announced for Skilled Pakistanis Looking for Jobs in Germany

Pakistan’s Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has shared details of a legal pathway for skilled workers seeking employment and residence in Germany.

The route is aimed at qualified foreign professionals as Germany continues to face labour shortages in several sectors. Pakistani applicants may qualify if they meet Germany’s education, professional and employment requirements.

Under the program, applicants must hold a recognised technical, vocational or professional qualification. A qualification earned in Pakistan must be accepted in Germany or considered equivalent to the relevant German standard.

Applicants must also secure a valid job offer from a German company or employer before applying for the residence permit.

The proposed job must match the applicant’s education, professional training or recognised qualification. Assistant-level and unskilled positions do not qualify under this route.

Additional Rules for Regulated Professions

Some professions carry additional requirements. These include healthcare roles and other regulated occupations.

Applicants in these fields may need professional recognition, a licence or approval from the relevant German authority before they can begin working.

Therefore, holding a degree or professional certificate may not be enough for doctors, nurses and other regulated professionals. They must also complete the required recognition process.

Legal Route for Employment and Residence

The skilled worker residence permit offers a formal route for eligible foreigners to live and work in Germany.

However, the notice does not announce specific job vacancies, salary packages or application deadlines. It also does not represent a new visa scheme created exclusively for Pakistani citizens.

Instead, the Bureau has highlighted an existing legal migration route that qualified Pakistanis can use if they meet Germany’s conditions.

Applicants should verify their qualification status and job offer before beginning the process. They should also rely on official government channels and avoid unlicensed agents promising guaranteed visas or employment.

The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment regulates overseas recruitment in Pakistan and provides guidance to citizens seeking lawful employment abroad.

Pakistanis interested in the opportunity can visit the Bureau’s official website for further information and updates.
