Samsung Galaxy M47 Launches With 6,000mAh Battery and Six Years of Updates

Samsung has launched the Galaxy M47 as the latest addition to its M-series lineup.

The phone shares several design elements and specifications with the Galaxy A27 but adds a larger battery, faster charging, and bypass charging support.

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy M47 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects the screen, while a centred punch-hole houses the front camera.

Samsung offers the phone in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue colour options.

Internals and Software

The Galaxy M47 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. It comes with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. Samsung has promised six years of Android operating system upgrades and six years of security updates.

Cameras

The Galaxy M47 has a triple-camera setup on the back.

It includes a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera.

A 12MP front camera sits inside the display’s punch-hole cutout.

Battery and Pricing

The phone has a 6,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.

It also supports bypass charging, which allows the device to draw power directly from the charger instead of routing it through the battery.

This feature can help reduce heat during gaming while the phone remains connected to a charger.

The Galaxy M47 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage starts at about $243.
