A heavily camouflaged two-door electric sports car believed to be from Xiaomi has been spotted testing on a highway in China.
Xiaomi has not confirmed the vehicle or displayed any official branding on the prototype. However, several design details suggest that it belongs to the company behind the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV.
The car could become Xiaomi’s first two-door performance model and may sit above the SU7 Ultra in its electric vehicle lineup.
Possible Design
The prototype features a continuous ring-shaped rear light bar similar to the lighting used on Xiaomi’s production cars.
Its low and wide body, along with its teardrop-shaped roofline, also resembles the design of the SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi’s Vision GT concept.
The Vision GT currently exists as a concept developed for a video game, but it may have influenced the design of the test vehicle.
Reports suggest that the production model could use the Xiaomi GT name, although the company has not confirmed this.
Track Equipment
The prototype has several components designed for high-speed track use. A large fixed rear wing uses a swan-neck mounting design and sits above the rear deck.
The lower section includes a multi-layered diffuser intended to control airflow and improve stability.
Its multi-spoke alloy wheels also reveal large yellow performance brake calipers.
Possible Powertrain
The two-door coupe could use Xiaomi’s previously demonstrated quad-motor electric powertrain. The system combines two of Xiaomi’s V8S electric motors with two next-generation high-output motors and produces a claimed 2,054 horsepower.
Xiaomi has not used the four-motor system in a production vehicle. If installed in the new coupe, it would place the car above the three-motor system used by the SU7 Ultra.
However, Xiaomi has not confirmed the prototype’s powertrain or performance specifications.
Active Chassis
Xiaomi’s intelligent chassis uses a 48V electrical system and places a separate 4.6kW power source at each wheel.
The system can adjust suspension damping during cornering, acceleration, and braking to reduce body movement.
It also uses steer-by-wire technology, replacing some conventional mechanical steering functions with electronic controls.
The setup is designed to manage traction and handling under high cornering forces.
Cooling System
A car producing more than 2,000 horsepower would require extensive battery and motor cooling during track use. The prototype could use an upgraded version of the cooling system developed for the SU7 Ultra.
Improved cooling loops would help control battery temperatures during sustained high-power driving. They could also prevent the vehicle from reducing its power output when temperatures rise during extended track sessions.
Expected Pricing
Xiaomi delivered 24,023 sedans and 8,736 SUVs during May 2026. The two-door model is expected to sit above the SU7 Ultra, which has a starting price of approximately $75,900.
Xiaomi has already demonstrated its performance capabilities at the Nürburgring, where the SU7 Ultra prototype completed a lap in 6 minutes and 22.091 seconds.
The company is also reportedly developing the high-performance YU7 GT SUV.
International Launch
Xiaomi plans to begin selling electric vehicles outside China during the second half of 2027.
Its initial expansion will focus on developed European markets and mid- to high-end electric vehicles.
A two-door performance car could serve as the company’s top model as it prepares to enter those markets.
Xiaomi has not announced a launch date, price, or final name for the vehicle.
