FIR Registered Against 5 CCD Officials for Abducting Citizens for Ransom

A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against five Crime Control Department (CCD) officials who allegedly kidnapped a citizen, who runs a landa (second-hand clothing) business, along with his companion, from a bazaar in Tehsil Jatoi in Muzaffargarh district, Punjab.

According to details, the accused allegedly kidnapped the citizens on January 16, illegally confining the victims in a private cell, where they were mentally tortured and threatened with false cases and death if their demands were not met.

The victims remained in captivity for several days, while their family members were pressured to arrange the ransom money.

The accused later released the victims after allegedly receiving Rs 1.2 million in ransom. Police have registered an FIR against the accused, and further investigation is underway.

According to the CCD, three of the officials involved have been taken into custody and suspended, while the CCD authorities have launched an inquiry into the matter.
