The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 49 million for the proposed Rawalpindi-Murree tourist glass train project under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27.
The tourist rail project carries an estimated cost of Rs. 117 billion and is aimed at improving tourism by providing a scenic rail journey between Rawalpindi and Murree.
According to official documents, the land acquisition process for the railway track and stations has already begun in Murree.
The glass train is part of the provincial government’s efforts to develop modern tourism infrastructure and improve access to one of Punjab’s most popular hill stations.
