IG Islamabad Police Announces 9,000 Jobs

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has announced that the Islamabad Police will recruit 9,000 new personnel to strengthen the force and improve policing across the federal capital.

Speaking at a press conference, the IGP said the recruitment drive will include vacancies for Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), Sub-Inspectors (SIs), and Direct Inspectors, along with other ranks.

Rizvi said the expansion is necessary because a significant number of serving officers are nearing retirement age, creating the need for a younger and more active workforce to enhance field operations and law enforcement.

The IGP also announced plans to further expand Islamabad Police’s electric vehicle fleet. He revealed that the police patrolling unit, which recently received 50 electric vehicles, will soon be equipped with another 50 EVs.

In addition, the Islamabad Traffic Police will receive 40 electric patrol vehicles to improve traffic management and response capabilities across the city.

The latest hiring announcement comes as Islamabad Police continues to expand its workforce to meet growing operational needs. Last month, the department advertised vacancies for executive and ministerial staff, including Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), Constables, Band Staff, Mounted Police, Assistants, Production Assistants, Stenotypists, Data Entry Operators, Upper Division Clerks (UDCs), and Lower Division Clerks (LDCs).
