PIA Set to Increase UK Flights

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to significantly expand its operations to the United Kingdom after Turkish Airlines returned 14 weekly landing and takeoff slots at London Heathrow Airport for the Winter 2026 schedule, beginning October 25.

The additional slots will allow PIA to increase direct services between London Heathrow and four major Pakistani cities: Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot.

The slot transfer builds on PIA’s return to Heathrow earlier this year, when the national carrier resumed flights using reclaimed summer 2026 slots after years of absence from one of the world’s busiest airports.

Documents related to the slot allocation show that Turkish Airlines has swapped multiple arrival and departure timings with PIA, paving the way for the Pakistani airline to operate additional frequencies during the winter season.

The expanded Heathrow presence is expected to improve travel options for thousands of passengers, particularly the large Pakistani diaspora in the UK, while providing greater connectivity for business and family travel.

PIA has been gradually rebuilding its international network following the restoration of its operations to key European destinations. The additional Heathrow slots are expected to strengthen the airline’s presence in one of its most important overseas markets and could pave the way for further expansion of its UK schedule.
