Samsung has officially confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22 in London, where the company is expected to unveil its first wider book-style foldable smartphone alongside the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
The launch event will begin at 6:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT) and will be streamed live through Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel.
The company has not revealed the names of the upcoming devices, but it said the event will introduce its latest Galaxy innovations that build on its leadership in foldable smartphones. Recent teasers shared by Samsung also hint at a foldable phone with a wider design, suggesting a major change for the Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
According to recent leaks and rumors, Samsung is expected to introduce two book-style foldable smartphones for the first time.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to feature a wider main display, offering a more practical aspect ratio for watching videos and using apps when unfolded. However, reports suggest Samsung may reduce the rear camera setup from three cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to two cameras in order to keep costs under control.
The second model is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is rumored to become the premium option in Samsung’s foldable lineup. It is expected to feature improved display technology with a less noticeable crease, an upgraded processor, three rear cameras, and faster charging support.
Although these specifications have not been officially confirmed, launching two book-style foldables at the same event would mark a first for Samsung.
According to earlier leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to launch cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, as it is going to be the lower-tier offering in the lineup. As for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, it is going to be the most premium offering in the series with a higher price tag than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Samsung is also widely expected to announce the Galaxy Z Flip 8 during the event.
The clamshell foldable is rumored to bring a redesigned hinge, improved performance, and a lighter body. However, reports indicate that major design changes may be limited this year, partly due to the ongoing global RAM supply constraints.
In addition to its foldable smartphones, Samsung may also introduce new wearable devices during Galaxy Unpacked.
Possible announcements include the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and Samsung’s upcoming Android XR smart glasses. However, some of these products could be saved for a separate launch later this year.
