Govt Approves Massive Salary Increase for University Teachers

The federal government has approved a 35% increase in salaries for university teachers working under the Tenure Track System (TTS).

According to an office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance, the revised TTS Pay Package 2026 has taken effect from July 1, 2026. The new package applies to Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors serving under the TTS system in universities.

Under the revised package, the minimum salary of a TTS Professor has been increased from Rs. 394,875 to Rs. 407,230, while the maximum salary has been raised from Rs. 684,450 to Rs. 712,030.

For Associate Professors, the minimum salary has been increased from Rs. 263,250 to Rs. 370,810, while the maximum salary has been raised from Rs. 493,590 to Rs. 645,610.

Similarly, the minimum salary of Assistant Professors has been increased from Rs. 175,500 to Rs. 288,020, while their maximum salary has been raised from Rs. 356,475 to Rs. 553,820.

The Ministry of Finance said TTS faculty members who were in service on June 30, 2026, will be shifted to the new TTS-2026 scale at the same stage where they were placed in the existing scale.
