UAE Took Part in Operation Epic Fury: Iran

Iran has called for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to be held accountable after the United States granted Abu Dhabi access to advanced American technology and certain defense-related items for supporting Operation Epic Fury.

The US Department of Commerce released a press release stating that it was upgrading the UAE’s export status in recognition of its designation as a major US defense partner and its support for Operation Epic Fury against Iran.

The changes remove several export restrictions, allow license-free transfers of selected military and dual-use technologies, and expand the UAE’s access to advanced computing equipment.

Reacting to the announcement, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, said the US document proves the UAE has supported the US military attack on Iran.

In a post on X on Friday, Gharibabadi said Washington’s decision to relax export controls was effectively a reward for Abu Dhabi’s role during the war. He called the US announcement as an “official admission” and a “disgraceful record” for UAE.

The Iranian official argued that the document carries legal and political consequences for Abu Dhabi and insisted that the UAE should be held accountable for its support for the US military operation against Iran.

The UAE has not publicly responded to Gharibabadi’s remarks. Meanwhile, the US Commerce Department said the export policy changes reflect the close US-UAE security partnership and the Emirati government’s commitment to preventing the misuse or diversion of sensitive American technology.
