Pakistan’s Rescue 1122 Adopts WHO Emergency Care Courses to Meet Global Standards

The Emergency Services Academy has officially launched emergency care courses in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), marking a significant step toward aligning Pakistan’s emergency training with international standards.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Director General of Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan Naseer announced that the Rescue Academy has decided to adopt WHO’s emergency care courses, giving emergency professionals across the country access to globally benchmarked training.

He noted that the academy has already trained over 27,000 emergency professionals nationwide.

Dr. Naseer highlighted that the WHO affiliation will make internationally standardized courses available to emergency responders and will further strengthen the training of first responders.

He added that Rescue 1122’s Search and Rescue Team already holds certification from the UN’s INSARAG, reflecting the organization’s internationally recognized capabilities.

WHO Pakistan Team Leader Dr. Naveed Asghar attended the ceremony as a special guest, alongside Dr. Jamshed and his team of international experts.
