Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the Maryam Nawaz Centre of Academic Leadership initiative, under which the government will establish Aitchison-level schools for boys and girls across the province.
The government will launch the initiative with a flagship pilot project on Wahdat Road in Lahore. According to the proposed plan, the project will accommodate 5,000 boys and 5,000 girls, creating educational opportunities for 10,000 students.
The campus will feature modern classrooms and extensive sports facilities. These include a sports hall, hockey stadium, cricket stadium, swimming pool and horse-riding facilities to promote both academic and extracurricular development.
Maryam Nawaz approved the project after reviewing a detailed briefing during a special meeting. The government plans to replicate the model across Punjab to improve the quality of public education and provide students with world-class learning facilities.
