The victim, identified as Sohail, was playing near the uncovered drain when he reportedly lost his footing and fell in.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene and launched a search operation to locate the child. Personnel eventually retrieved the boy from the drain and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
