Faisalabad Man Allegedly Sells Wife Over Rs. 70,000 Loan

A woman in Faisalabad has alleged that her husband sold her to his friend in exchange for a Rs. 70,000 loan, while police have yet to recover her children or arrest the suspects.

The alleged incident took place in Kokianwala, where 33-year-old Nadia, currently living with her widowed mother in Madanpura, said she was married to Usman of Mananwala 12 years ago. The couple has three children.

According to the woman, her husband later moved with the family to a rented house in Ansari Park, Kokianwala. She alleged that Usman had borrowed Rs. 70,000 from his friend Shehzad, a property dealer, and frequently brought him home.

Nadia claimed that when she objected to Shehzad’s visits, her husband subjected her to violence. She alleged that after Shehzad demanded repayment of the loan, Usman sold her to him.

She further claimed that after the alleged deal, Usman fled with their eight-year-old son Abuzar and 10-year-old daughter Madiha. She alleged that Shehzad and his accomplices held her and her four-year-old son Shehryar at gunpoint and took them to his house.

According to Nadia, she was also stopped from meeting her family.

The woman alleged that the suspects later prepared a fake divorce document on August 7, 2025, obtained stamp papers using her CNIC, and forced her to sign and affix thumb impressions.

She claimed that nine days after the alleged fake divorce, she was taken to court and forced into another marriage under threats to her child’s life.

Nadia alleged that Shehzad continued to threaten her and subjected her to abuse for around a year. She said her brothers eventually traced and recovered her on June 17 and brought her back home.

However, she claimed that Shehzad is still threatening her family over the phone and that her four-year-old son remains in his custody.

The woman said she has submitted an application to the Faisalabad CPO for action but alleged that police have so far failed to arrest the suspects or recover her children.

Nadia has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and IG Punjab to help recover her three children and ensure legal action against the accused.
