Pakistan Announces Major Robotics Show in Islamabad

Pakistan is set to host the Indus Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) Expo 2026 on July 22 and 23 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad.

The expo is organized by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), through its subsidiary Ignite – National Technology Fund.

The two-day national technology event aims to strengthen Pakistan’s robotics ecosystem and accelerate the adoption of autonomous technologies across key sectors.

The exhibition will feature innovations in defence robotics, drone technologies, industrial automation, maritime autonomous systems, agritech, Physical AI, human-machine collaboration, AI-powered decision support systems, and emerging startup solutions. Universities, research institutions, technology companies, and public-sector organizations will showcase locally developed products, advanced prototypes, and live technology demonstrations.

Among the main attractions will be the RAS Innovation Challenge and RoboWars Competition, where students, engineers, and startups will present original robotics, drone, and autonomous systems projects before a panel of industry experts. The event will also feature high-level plenary sessions and an Immersive Experience Dome designed to showcase emerging technologies through interactive digital experiences.

The expo will bring together policymakers, defence organizations, industry leaders, researchers, universities, startups, investors, students, and technology professionals. The event will provide a platform to showcase indigenous innovations, promote collaboration in robotics and autonomous systems, support the commercialization of research, and enhance Pakistan’s capabilities in advanced engineering and intelligent technologies.

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said robotics and autonomous systems are becoming key drivers of economic competitiveness, industrial modernization, and national resilience. She added that the expo reflects the government’s commitment to innovation and the development of local talent.

Ignite Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Bilal Abbasi said the event will strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and government while providing innovators with a national platform to commercialize indigenous technologies and help shape Pakistan’s technological future.
