CDA Officials Accused of Selling Imaginary Plots in Islamabad Worth Billions

Authorities have launched an investigation into an alleged multi billion rupee plot allotment scam involving senior officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), with four officials placed under scrutiny as the probe gathers pace.

Sources told ProPakistani that the investigation focuses on the alleged fraudulent allotment of plots worth billions of rupees across multiple sectors of Islamabad. Officials from the CDA’s Building Control and Estate Management (Commercial) departments, along with a former Deputy Commissioner and a former Deputy Director of Land, are among those being investigated.

Investigators are examining the alleged use of fake allotment letters and whether administrative procedures were manipulated to facilitate the allotments. The inquiry will also determine the role of officials accused of providing legal cover to the disputed transactions.

Sources said the Ministry of Interior has placed two former CDA officials on the stop list and informed immigration authorities to prevent them from leaving the country while the investigation is underway.

The probe is also examining allegations of money laundering, overseas investments, and the transfer of family members abroad by individuals linked to the case.

According to sources, investigators are also looking into alleged attempts to influence key appointments in the CDA’s Land and Rehabilitation Wing. An ongoing Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) money laundering inquiry involving a tehsildar serving in the Land Wing is also part of the broader investigation.

Despite the pending FIA inquiry, the official was allegedly assigned sensitive responsibilities, while a recent appointment in the Land Wing has also come under scrutiny over reported links to suspicious files, sources said.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities believe additional senior officials could come under scrutiny as the probe progresses. No official findings have been announced, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
