The Sindh government has decided to convert its Public-Private Partnership (PPP) unit into a private limited company, officials said on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting of the PPP unit and approved the reorganization plan. He said the new company will help attract investment and ensure the timely completion of development projects.
An autonomous, investment-based public-private partnership system is being established, the chief minister said. He added that the reforms will strengthen policymaking, planning, and enforcement while removing administrative hurdles.
Murad Ali Shah said the new structure will provide departments with timely technical, financial, and legal support. He said the government will base the company on strong governance, transparent performance, and clear legal monitoring.
The chief minister said the PPP units in provincial departments will become more active and effective under the new arrangement. He also said eligible officers will receive greater powers to speed up approvals and project completion without compromising accountability.
According to the briefing, Sindh’s PPP program has become Pakistan’s most successful model. The chief minister said the reforms will improve performance and build investor confidence.
