Murree Police Issues Travel Advisory for Tourists

Murree Police has issued a travel advisory as a large number of tourists continue to visit the hill station during the summer holidays.

The district administration and traffic police have been placed on alert to manage the increased traffic and assist visitors. Police officers have also been deployed at major intersections and roads across the city to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

According to the District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr. Raza Tanveer, monsoon rainfall and fog have reduced visibility at several locations, resulting in slow-moving traffic.

All major roads in Murree remain open to traffic, except Rawalpindi-Murree-Kohala (RMK), where road carpeting work is underway. Authorities have said tourists can continue traveling to Murree but should exercise caution.

Visitors have been advised to follow the instructions of traffic and district police, reduce their speed during rain and fog, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.

Drivers should avoid overtaking in low-visibility conditions and refrain from unnecessary roadside parking. Police have also urged motorists to follow traffic laws and avoid rushing to prevent accidents during the monsoon season.
