Here’s Pakistan’s Domestic Cricket Calendar for 2026-27

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the Men’s Domestic Cricket Calendar for the 2026-27 season, introducing an expanded first-class structure, two List A competitions and a larger school cricket program.

The season will run from August 11, 2026, to June 15, 2027, and will include two List A tournaments, three first-class competitions, two non-first-class three-day events, two T20 tournaments, national U19, U17 and U15 competitions, district leagues, inter-district tournaments and school cricket across 100 districts.

According to the PCB, the calendar is aimed at supporting the development and preparation of national, domestic, emerging, age-group and aspiring cricketers across the country.

The season will begin with two List A tournaments as Pakistan steps up preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which is scheduled to be held in South Africa from October 4 to November 21, 2027.

As part of the expansion of regional cricket, the PCB has added one new regional team each from Sialkot and Peshawar. The two regions will join Karachi and Lahore as the only four of the country’s 16 regions to field two teams.

The PCB has also divided the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy into two competitions.

The top eight teams from the previous season will compete in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold, while the former Hanif Mohammad Trophy has been upgraded from a non-first-class four-day event to first-class status and renamed the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Silver.

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold will be played in Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Rawalpindi from November 1 to December 17. Each team will play seven first-class matches, with the top two sides qualifying for the final.

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Silver will feature 12 teams, including the new teams from Peshawar and Sialkot, relegated sides Abbottabad and Bahawalpur, and the remaining eight teams from last season’s Hanif Mohammad Trophy.

The teams will be divided into two groups of six, with the group winners advancing to the final. The competition will run from November 1 to December 5.

The Silver division champion will be promoted to the Gold division for the 2027-28 season, while the bottom-ranked team in the Gold division will be relegated.

The National T20 Cup Silver will feature 12 teams and will be played in Lahore from February 5 to 19, 2027. The two finalists will qualify for the National T20 Cup Gold, which will also be held in Lahore from February 23 to March 6 and will feature 10 teams.

The President’s Cup Grade-I will be held in Karachi from August 21 to September 8. Eight teams will compete in a single-league format before the semifinals and final.

The President’s Trophy Grade-I, Grade-II Gold and Grade-II Silver competitions will begin at the same time on September 12 across eight cities.

Around 34 departmental teams are expected to take part in four-day first-class and three-day non-first-class competitions.

The PCB has also expanded its age-group cricket pathway by introducing a red-ball competition for all 16 regional U19 teams.

The competition will include 47 three-day matches, while the same teams will also take part in a 50-over tournament running alongside it.

The National U19 Championship and National U19 Cup will be held in Faisalabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Multan from September 15 to November 6.

The National U15 Cup will be played from October 22 to November 6, while the National U17 Cup will take place from November 10 to December 5.

Trials for district U15, U17 and U19 teams will be conducted in September.

The PCB has also significantly expanded its Talent Hunt Programme for Schools, increasing the number of participating schools from 450 to 1,200 and extending its coverage from 39 to 100 districts.

District cricket will continue through the District Challenge League, Regional Inter-District competitions and Inter-District U19 tournaments.
