The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has decided to introduce mandatory biometric verification for candidates appearing in its written examinations, starting with the upcoming Deputy Accountant recruitment test.
According to the PPSC, the biometric verification system will be implemented during the written examinations scheduled for July 25 and 26.
More than 60,000 candidates are expected to appear in the Deputy Accountant exam, and all of them will undergo biometric verification at their respective examination centers before being allowed to sit the test.
PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed said the new system aims to make the examination process more transparent, secure, and credible.
He said the introduction of biometric verification will help eliminate impersonation and ensure that only genuine candidates are able to appear in the examinations.
According to the commission, the Deputy Accountant test will serve as the first written examination to use the new verification system.
The PPSC also announced that biometric verification will gradually be extended to other written examinations involving more than 60,000 candidates, further strengthening the integrity of the recruitment process.
