The Punjab government is planning to raise the per-student subsidy for Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) affiliated PSRP schools to Rs3,000, up from the current Rs1,250.
Officials say Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will make the formal announcement soon. The proposed increase is expected to provide stronger financial support to partner schools and help improve their operations.
PEF uses the subsidy model to support private schools working under public-private partnership arrangements. The higher funding may also ease pressure on schools facing rising costs and help improve teaching standards.
According to a report on the proposal, the foundation has already sent the summary to the provincial government for approval.
