Govt Approves Affordable Export Subsidy Schemes

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Monday approved three new export finance subsidy schemes aimed at boosting exports, expanding access to low-cost financing, and increasing support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the ECC approved an enhanced EXIM-administered Export Finance Scheme (E-EFS), a new Long-Term Export Growth Financing Facility (LTEGFF), and a performance-based rebate on incremental exports.

According to the Finance Division, the package will provide fixed low-rate financing to exporters while strengthening financial support for both export and import-related activities. The government said the initiative places special emphasis on improving access to financing for SMEs.
