Lahore’s government high and higher secondary schools have fallen short of their assigned enrollment target, prompting district education authorities to step up the ongoing admission drive.
According to the Lahore Education Authority, these schools were required to enroll 393,000 students by March 5, 2026. However, the current enrollment stands at approximately 390,000, leaving the authorities short of the target.
The overall enrollment target for the current academic year has been set at 430,000 students. To achieve this figure, school heads have been directed to increase admissions and ensure that each institution enrolls at least 10 additional students.
Schools have also been instructed to conduct door-to-door campaigns to identify and enroll children who are currently out of school.
The authority has warned that every school will be responsible for meeting its assigned target. School heads who fail to achieve the required enrollment numbers may face strict administrative action.
