Pakistani Airline to Resume Flights After 11 Years

Air Indus has announced plans to resume flight operations more than 11 years after suspending its services, with the airline preparing to relaunch domestic flights before expanding to international destinations across the Gulf.

According to information published on the airline’s official website, Air Indus is finalizing preparations to restart operations with a fleet of narrow-body jets and ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft.

Air Indus suspended its flight operations on July 1, 2015.

Domestic Operations to Launch First

The airline said it will begin its relaunch by operating domestic flights from its hub in Karachi. Initially, Air Indus plans to operate three daily flights between Karachi and Islamabad and two daily flights between Karachi and Lahore.

The airline also plans to serve several other domestic destinations, including Peshawar, Sialkot, Quetta, Gwadar, Faisalabad, Multan, and Skardu from Karachi. It also plans to operate flights between Quetta and Islamabad. Air Indus said it will focus on punctuality, safety, and customer service as it resumes operations across Pakistan.

International Expansion Planned in Second Phase

After restarting domestic services, Air Indus plans to launch international flights to Gulf countries. The airline said it intends to operate flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait City, and Muscat.

Air Indus clarified that all international routes remain subject to approval from the relevant civil aviation authorities.

Airline to Operate Narrow-Body Jets and ATR Aircraft

Air Indus said it will introduce a modern fleet to support its relaunch. The airline said narrow-body jets will form the backbone of its network, serving domestic routes before supporting expansion into the Middle East.

It added that the aircraft have been selected for their efficiency, reliability, passenger comfort, and operational performance. The airline also plans to add ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft in a later phase. Air Indus said the regional aircraft will help connect smaller communities and improve air connectivity to Pakistan’s northern areas.

Air Indus described the relaunch as the result of extensive planning and said it aims to provide world-class air travel services for passengers across Pakistan.
