Former Pakistan cricket team captain Younis Khan has expressed his willingness to work with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and contribute to the national cricket setup in any capacity.
Younis Khan made the statement during his visit to Baldia Town Stadium in Karachi, where he reportedly confirmed his readiness to collaborate with the PCB and support Pakistan cricket.
Speaking on the occasion, the former batting great said he was available to serve the country in any role if given the opportunity.
“I am always ready to serve Pakistan in any capacity if the opportunity arises. If I am assigned responsibility for the national team, I will try to fulfill it in the best possible way,” Younis Khan said.
He further noted that retired players and experienced support staff are essential for the development of any team.
Younis Khan added that whether it is him or any other former player, whoever gets the opportunity should serve Pakistan with dedication, commitment and professionalism.
Earlier reports had suggested that Younis Khan could replace Sarfaraz Ahmed as Test head coach. However, according to later reports, Sarfaraz Ahmed has been given a clean chit by the PCB and is expected to continue as head coach for Pakistan’s upcoming Test tours of the West Indies and England.
