A new electricity bill format has been introduced nationwide, featuring a simplified design aimed at making bills easier for consumers to read and understand.
According to a spokesperson, the redesigned bill has been developed with a focus on simplicity, transparency, and an improved user experience.
The decision follows widespread consumer complaints that the previous format contained excessive information, technical terminology, and a complex layout that made it difficult to interpret.
The new bill prominently displays key details such as the total amount payable, the payment due date, and electricity consumption, allowing consumers to quickly identify the most important information.
As part of the upgrade, the new electricity bills also include a QR code, enabling consumers to access additional information and digital services instantly.
Officials said the redesigned format is intended to improve clarity and make electricity billing more user-friendly for consumers across Pakistan.

At least fix the ugly websites of MEPCO and FESCO. There is no way to check if bill payment received by your department or not.
And make the bills paperless. Its completely waste of papers and our money.
Go to PITC website and search for your bill after 2,3 days of paying your bill, it will display PAID stamp along with VERIFIED BY PITC.
It’s ridiculous. I never heard such demand from even a single person. People don’t have interest in format of bills. Complications are not in format. Complications are the taxes.
Simplicity in bills is need of time.
But honestly fairness transparency in energy affair is more than urgent.
Finance minister says electric boards are handed over to Private people but situation remains almost same.
Without accountability and punishment to corupt and incompitant, change of faces will never work.
Bring accountability to the system.

Monthly enrollment or subscribe option of electronic billing by email is also best to manage all statements rather than hard copies.

Govt needs to simplify IPPs also. The year they started functioning. Total input cost, name of owner. Total production to date yearwise and total payments made thus far. Lastly, identify any similar Govt level contracting procedure anywhere else in the world.

There should be an option for customers to choose whether they would like to receive their bill via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or as a printed hard copy.
To encourage digital adoption, a small incentive or benefit could be offered to customers who opt for a paperless bill. This would help reduce printing costs and save time and effort for staff, while also being more environmentally friendly.
This redesigned bill will stop giving exact tax breakdowns like extra tax, income tax, duty tax, further tax, General Sales Tax so accountability can be avoided and record erased if some citizen in future decides to challenge in courts….This is some nect level manipulation
