The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has launched a new Ziarat booking system for Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iran and Iraq to visit holy sites.
According to the ministry, 262 Ziarat Group Organizers (ZGOs) have been registered under the new Ziyarat Policy 2026. Pilgrims will now have to make their bookings only through these approved organizers.
The ministry said the complete list of approved ZGOs is available on its official website. Pilgrims have been advised to check the list before booking their travel package and choose only a registered organizer.
Officials warned that unregistered individuals or companies are not allowed to make bookings for pilgrims. The ministry also clarified that it will not be responsible for any loss or fraud if pilgrims book through an unauthorized person or company.
The new system has been introduced to make Ziarat travel safer, more organized, and transparent. It is also aimed at stopping illegal operators and protecting pilgrims from fake booking agents.
Pilgrims planning to visit Iran or Iraq have been advised to verify the registration status of their organizer before making any payment or finalizing travel arrangements.
