Over 90% Refuse to Submit College Admission Forms in Karachi

Karachi’s higher secondary education board has once again failed to implement its college admission policy effectively. Despite the deadline for first-year intermediate admissions having passed, more than 90% of students in the city have not submitted their admission forms.

Out of approximately 98,000 students, only around 7,000 have submitted their forms, according to Sindh’s Director General of Colleges, Professor Dr. Naveed Rab Siddiqui. He confirmed that nearly 91,000 students have chosen not to move forward with the admission process due to serious concerns.

Students argue that even though many were qualified on merit, they were not granted seats at their preferred colleges. As a result, thousands are waiting, hoping that the merit list will be revised or lowered so they can submit claim forms and secure admission where they actually want to study.

But Dr. Siddiqui has ruled out any such possibility this year. He warned both students and parents that the merit list will not be adjusted. “Wherever a student has been allotted a seat, they must complete the admission process at that institution,” he stated.

He added that while changes to merit lists were made in previous years, that practice has now ended. The current merit list stands as final.

  • How and why the board has completing 1st year admission process without the result of 10th class?
Why they are favouring to non karachiti es to occupy seats . Surely the responsible has got bribe to do so.

  • Students are not your slaves . If you hate merit revision , provide them with better opportunities. Otherwise no one wants your colleges

  • Education system in Karachi has always been paralyzed for Karachites in PPP government

  • My daughter has secured 80% marks and she’s being accommodating in college where merit is 40%?? Department is offering admission on behalf of 9th class results which had been announced before a year. Why did the department not worked and generated seats as per the students results when they had data of all students?? Now they are saying that there is no seats in those colleges where you child deserves. Results, they are accommodating students with 80% marks in those colleges where merit is 40%.???
