The traditional recipe of alfredo pasta contains only three ingredients which are fettuccine pasta, butter, and parmesan cheese. With these ingredients, it takes hardly 15 minutes to prepare pasta, hence convenience along with taste.
Variations in Alfredo Pasta
Going with the simple traditional recipe will take very little of your time whether you want to prepare pasta for an event or for your regular meals. Now, the traditional recipe is although very rich and creamy but after a few bites, it becomes – boring. That’s the reason there are a number of modern variations in the classic alfredo pasta including the chicken alfredo pasta that make it much more delicious and enduring.
1. Chicken and broccoli alfredo
This is penne pasta married to a creamy sauce, topped with chicken, broccoli, and sweet red pepper. Great way to feed veggies to kids!
2. Shrimp fettuccine alfredo
Bored of chicken? Swap it with shrimp to top your creamy fettuccine. Sauté your shrimps in garlic and butter first to add the right twist.
3. Vegan alfredo
For vegan alfredo, use cauliflower or cashews to form the creamy base of your pasta. You can keep your pasta completely oil-free.

1 & ¼ cup dairy cream | |
1 teaspoon salt | |
¼ cup chopped mushrooms | |
1 teaspoon black pepper | |
¾ cup milk | |
2 tablespoon cream cheese | |
1 teaspoon dried parsley | |
¼ cup parmesan cheese |
Directions
- To boil pasta, take a pot and add water to it. Heat the water until it comes to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of oil to the water. Now add pasta. Boil for 6-8 minutes or until the pasta is soft and fully cooked.Mark as complete
- For chicken preparation, take a pan and add oil to it. When the oil is heated, add garlic paste. Stir for 3-4 seconds. Make sure the flame is not high at this point otherwise the garlic will burn. When garlic comes to a light golden color, add chicken, salt, and pepper to it. Fry on high flame now while constantly stirring the chicken. Continue the process until the chicken is properly cooked. It will take about 10 – 12 minutes.Mark as complete
- To prepare sauce, take another pan and add butter to it. When the butter melts, add dairy cream, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and mushrooms.Mark as complete
- Continue to cook the sauce until it gains an evenly thick consistency. Make sure to cook this sauce on a low or medium flame to achieve the best alfredo sauce texture for your pasta.Mark as complete
- Once the sauce is thickened, add cream cheese and dried parsley. Mix properly with the help of a whisk so that the sauce is smooth.Mark as complete
- Now add parmesan cheese to it and save a little amount for garnishing your pasta. In the end, add bell pepper (optional).Mark as complete
- To assemble your pasta, take a plate and add boiled pasta to the base. Next, pour the alfredo sauce and add chicken to the top. Now add parsley and parmesan cheese for garnishing. Serve.Mark as complete
