With coronavirus pandemic impacting millions of people around the world, Ramadan isn’t going to be the same this year. The festivities of Ramadan such as large family gatherings in Iftar, the rush in the markets and prayers in the mosques etc. will not be the same. So, this is the right time for us to analyse our understanding of Islam and the importance of religious obligations in the time of this pandemic.
How to make the most of 2020’s Ramadan? Just try to get closer to Allah by offering prayers, reciting the Quran and helping and showing kindness to the needy people. In this Quarantine, we have ample time at our disposal to reflect on our lives like we never did before.
So, in this article, we will provide our version of how to make the most of 2020’s Ramadan by praying, doing charitable deeds and thanking Allah for all the blessings.
Recite Quran Frequently
This Ramadan, try to recite the Quran after every prayer and understand the lessons that are conveyed to us by Allah. It is the best way to earn blessings of Allah in the month of Ramadan. From the Quran, we can learn more about Islam and it will also bring us closer to ALLAH.
Worship throughout the Day
There are many ways to remember Allah throughout the day. We can engage in an act of worship verbally by making Duas, reciting Tasbeeh and reading or revising the memorized Surah’s. These acts can be done whenever one gets time. So, try to utilise the spare minutes in your life by worshipping Allah. However, the people who don’t pray regularly should try to offer the obligatory prayers first. Make it the important task on Ramadan goals list.
Doing Charitable Deeds
Covid-19 has brought different forms of afflictions for different people. For some, it has brought business losses, for others unemployment, hunger among other difficulties. So, in this tough time, we should do as much charity as we can. We should help people who are less privileged in every way possible.
We can give meals to the poor or we can give donations to the charitable organizations like EDHI foundation, Shoukat Khanum, Akhuwat foundation etc. We can also give donations to the Prime Minister Corona relief fund. Those people who don’t have to worry about job, salary or next meal should help the needy people with every little charity they can manage.
In these dark times, we must understand and value our privileges. We should show gratitude to Allah Ta’aala for all the blessings, through our words and actions. We hope this Ramadan bring Allah Ta’aala’s blessings upon you and your family.
