Where is this man praying?

They say that God is everywhere. You only need but to ask for His Help no matter where you are. Some people have such an unshakable faith in the power of prayer, that there’s no place too dangerous or unfit, where they can put up their hands in prayer and ask for divine blessings. We have seen some people doing it right in front of the roads, and in airplanes.

But we are willing to bet that you may not have seen this in a cave 5 kilometers in. This picture is worth a thousand words, and it tells a beautiful story:

Preserving Islamic History

The place where this picture was taken is the Jabal-e-Noor caves in Quetta. This place is historically significant for the role it has played in preserving ancient manuscripts from the Holy Quran.

Started by two people in 1992, these caves have managed to preserve more than 9 million copies of the Quran by 2018. Copies of Quran found in the cave have been brought in for all over Pakistan.

Reams of sacks upon sacks can be glanced upon, each one of them full of ancient texts from Islamic history. Just imagine how much we could learn about our past from here.

The Jabal-e-Noor caves are a marvel, and you can see how they have desks, carpets and lights laid out throughout the corridors. One wonders what they would be doing for ventilation.

Oh and you know what makes this place utterly impossible to believe? These caves, that number in the hundreds, have not being carved out by machinery. Qurans dating back as far as the 11th century can be found here!
