Cha In Ha is the third young South Korean celebrity to die in the past two months. Just days after the death of K-pop stars Sulli (25) and Goo Hara (28), South Korea’s entertainment industry is struck again with another tragic death of singer and actor Cha In Ha (27, birth name Lee Jae Ho).
A Tragedy
On Tuesday, December 3rd, it was reported that Cha was found dead at his home. His manager is said to have discovered his body and contacted the police. His death has raised several questions among fans as no will or final message has been found.
It seems even more suspicious, because just 20 hours before he was found dead, Cha uploaded a series of photographs on his Instagram where he sat enjoying a cup of coffee and wrote in Korean “Everybody, watch out” – a gesture telling his fans to take care in the cold weather.

Until yesterday, the cause of death was being investigated. However, authorities state that no autopsy will be performed as per the family’s wishes.
Cha In Ha’s agency Fantagio expressed their sadness at his passing away in an official statement:
“On December 3, actor Cha In Ha left our side. We’re sincerely hurt that we’re sending this sad news to the people who have given Cha In Ha so much love and supported him until now.”
The label further asked netizens and media outlets to refrain from reporting on rumors, and that Cha’s funeral will be held privately as per the family’s wishes.
His Career
Born in 1992, Cha In Ha made his debuted in 2017Â for the short film You, Deep Inside of Me. He was also a member of Fantagio’s second actor boy group SURPRISE U and released two albums with the label.
He has appeared in popular dramas including Are You Human, Too?, Clean with Passion for now, The Banker and Wok of Love. Most recently, he was appearing in MBC‘s new Wed-Thurs drama series Love With Flaws.
