Sakina Samo is a veteran Pakistani actress who also happens to be an active social media user. She kept fans and followers engaged through platforms like Facebook and Twitter. However, the actress recently had to delete her Twitter account.
The legendary actress, director, and producer reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and soon after a journalist started spreading rumors of her death. Sakina Samo responded to the fake news on Twitter and called out the journalist who reported it:
A so-called journalist was bugging me all day yesterday. I refused to take his call or reply to any message. I did not want to talk about my health and so on. Well, long story cut short i blocked him on Whatsapp. He kept calling and calling. And then this happened.
Before deleting her account, the actress had requested her fans and followers to not tag her in any COVID related news.
We hope the actress recovers soon and makes a comeback on social media. Furthermore, journalists have a huge responsibility to report the truth and not use social media to settle petty scores.
