Veteran film actress Firdous Begum has passed away at the age of 75. The news of her death was confirmed by her family on Wednesday (today).
According to the reports, the actress was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lahore for the last three days after suffering from brain hemorrhage.
Her family told media outlets that Firdous Begum was rushed to the hospital in critical condition on Monday.
Born on August 04, 1947, the legendary actress started her career with Fanoos in the year 1963.
She was the superstar of 1960s and gained popularity through the character of ‘Heer’ in Lollywood’s blockbuster Heer Ranjha. Some of her other notable works include Khandaan, Malang, Lai Laag, and Aurat.
She featured in more than 150 films, including 130 Punjabi, 20 Urdu and three Pushto films. Her demise has saddened the showbiz fraternity and its followers.
