Rumor has it, famed Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi is enrolling in a university, and fans are thinking no one is too cool for school afterall.
Shahid Afridi is proving, it’s never too late to go back to school. After quitting his studies for a career as a sportsman, the cricketer might be continuing his education now.

The 44-year-old recently revealed his decision to enrol at a local university, while delivering a speech at the Salim Habib University in Karachi. The News reports, the event was a brand ambassador ceremony with the faculty and students in attendance.
“I’ve taken admission here, … I’d never seen a university before coming here. Cricket was my whole life. I’ve taken admission here and I will study with you all, which is really a matter of pride for me.”

Shahid Afridi has been designated a brand ambassador for Salim Habib University, formerly known as the Barrett Hodgson University. The university is run by a foundation established by Dr M Salim Habib. M. S. Habib is the creator and founder of pharmaceutical giant Barrett Hodgson Pakistan.
He is now enrolling at the university, after passing the entrance exam of course. Afridi joked that the Managing Director of the Salim Habib Education Foundation, Iram Afaq only admits people to the varsity on merit.

Shahid Afridi on Importance of Education
The sportsman stressed the importance of education. Especially the importance of girls’ education. He shared how this is something the Shahid Afridi Foundation pays special attention to.
“Education plays a really important role in the progress of a nation,” he said.
