Turns out Asim Azhar’s Khala is a British entrepreneur and former television presenter and producer for the BBC World Service. Now she’s been promoted to Honorary Captain of the British Royal Navy.

While all Pakistanis and British-Pakistanis alike are proud of her, Asim Azhar in particular is gushing about his khala.

The activist was moved by what the Tum Tum singer had to say. She thanked him but said the credit goes to her parents.

However, many Netizens pointed out how a British citizen being handed an honorary rank in British Royal Navy has nothing to do with Pakistan. They can’t find something to be proud of with Durdana’s moment.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has been proud of her accomplishments so far. Yet is the problem now her honorary role in the armed forces of another country?

In the past, we have celebrated other British-Pakistanis such as Riz Ahmed with his success in Hollywood, comedian Shazia Mirza, journalists like Haroon Rashid, as well as Jameela Jamil.

Not to mention a special advisor to the Prime Minister (SAPM), and one of the most stylish men in South Asia, Zulfi Bukhari is also a dual citizen.

Durdana’s role in the armed forces is what has people holding back from celebrating her success.

Others just congratulated the family.

Some even made inappropriate jokes.
