Amid all the critique towards drama serial Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, even Mahira Khan has opened up about her disagreements with the show.
Superstar Mahira Khan made her television comeback with Hum TV’s Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay. Audiences expected a lot from the adaptation of Humera Ahmed’s novel by the same name. However, it now just has fans angered over the slow pace of the drama serial and the disturbing subject matter.
In an interview with Something Haute, the Bol actress pointed out her disagreements with the drama serial. She shared that while there are many aspects of the show that she is not on board with, as an actor she can’t do much.
“There are many things that I don’t agree with but I’m just an actor, I had no choice to remove any scene in the serial. Unfortunately or fortunately there are some bits in the story that I don’t agree with.”
Despite all the criticism towards the depiction of partner violence on-screen between Mahira Khan’s Mehreen and Usman Mukhtar’s Aswad, the Verna actress believes it was necessary for the story.
What she didn’t agree with is the character’s mindset despite his progressive upbringing.
“I think it wasn’t necessary to show the level of toxicity where Aswad is going. Aswad is an exposed human being, he has been living abroad so he shouldn’t act the way he is currently doing. His mentality should be different from a typical person. I believe there were some problems in Aswad’s character.”
On the other hand, in a previous interview about the drama serial, Mahira Khan shared how she made amends to the script based on what she felt the story and her character needed.

Why write the story, when the interview is there for all to see! Do a real interview with your own questions ! Mahira drama is showing that toxic adults and dysfunctional families raised children who are dysfunctional it is a cycle, this must be broken is the message of the novel and drama ! If peoples wants to see abusive drama, and toxic character then watch the tribal culture, and role play by Neumann Ejaz , or mere sai, played by the same actors! The actresses in these serials are also very smart educated girls but they all take abuse! In Mahira drama abuse and abusers are not hero’s ! Big difference!
