5 Pakistani Women to Be Proud of This Women’s Day!

It’s that time of year again, International Women’s Day. When we gather to rally support for women empowerment and emancipation worldwide. This year, let’s appreciate Pakistani women that have landed the country on the global map.

While there are numerous extraordinary women making the nation proud we only complied a list of 5 of them. The reason is that they landed Pakistan on the global map. While some of them identify are purely Pakistani women through and through, others have a more diverse identity.

Naturally, we had to mention Pakistan’s second Nobel Prize winner. The youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate is now an active education advocate, particularly for women’s education.

This year she has even been nominated for an Academy Award for her work on the James Bond film No Time To Die. She’s the daughter of revered folk singer Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi.

Another star in the entertainment industry, the two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker has garnered widespread praise and recognition for her documentaries and now educational animated series. Now she’s set to work as one of four directors helming Disney’s Ms. Marvel series.
