FIA Cybercrime acquits actress Nadia Khan in a Rs. 50 million defamation lawsuit by PPP leader Sharmila Faruqi.
TV show host and YouTuber Nadia Khan made headlines after netizens criticized her for making “fun” of Anisa Faruqi, the mother of politician Sharmila Faruqi. The video in question is from actors Saboor Aly and Ali Ansari’s wedding. Nadia is passing compliments to Anisa, however, people felt the morning show host was being sarcastic.

The court of public opinion may be in Sharmila Faruqi’s favor but the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is not. After a close analysis of the 40-minute YouTube video, FIA’s cybercrime division has acquitted Nadia Khan in the defamation notice by Sharmila Faruqi.
The news is confirmed by the Head of FIA Cybercrime Sindh, Imran Riaz. The former morning show host took to her Instagram to post a recorded video of Imran Riaz explaining the acquittal.
“Actress/ Host Nadia Khan has been cleared from defamatory charges levelled against her by MPA Sharmila Farooqui for defaming the mother of the Later,” confirmed the official. “Making video and picture of someone and making it viral becomes crime only if the intention of making such video is to harass and disrepute someone.”
Nadia Khan is very happy with the verdict as she wrote, “THE TRUTH ALWAYS WINS,” in the caption. She thanked the FIA for being ‘fair and honest’.
