Captain Farrukh - Jo Bichar Gaye

As Jo Bichar Gaye wrapped up, fans of the drama serial were moved to tears. Could you imagine anything more gut-wrenching? Wait till you hear the real Captain Farrukh tell his story.

Period drama, Jo Bichar Gaye, is based on a novel by a war veteran Colonel (R) Z.I. Farrukh. The drama serial follows events leading up to the war of 71 and the emancipation of West Bengal.

Aside from the fall of Dhaka, the drama serial also followed the love story of young Captain Farrukh and a Bengali girl Sonia. In the drama serial, Sonia is lost and we don’t know her fate.

Much like the rest of the story, that aspect is based on the experiences of Col (R) Farrukh. Just thinking about the heartbreaking separation of Sonia and Rumi as well as Captain Farrukh’s undying, and one-sided love for Sonia was hard-hitting.

So when Col. (R) Farrukh narrated his sentiments, trials, and tribulations, we could really feel his pain.

In an interview with Fuchsia Magazine, he also shared how the Colonel’s family reacted to watching ‘Captain Farrukh‘ on-screen. He said that Col. (R) Farrukh is happy with his portrayal on-screen. While the war veteran’s son was also impressed.

Col. (R) Farrukh’s son also shared with Talha that Colonel’s sisters loved his performance. With the women even saying the actor sure does look like the Colonel from his younger days.
