People brought up how the filmmaker who is a fugitive of the United States criminal justice system since he fled to London after serving 42 days in prison. After fleeing the US before his final sentencing, the Rosemary’s Baby creator has been residing in France.

Especially, as some people brought up that the Oscars also boycotted Bill Cosby, Netizens were quick to clap back. They pointed out how Cosby never won an Oscar. Meanwhile, arrangements were made for Polanski to accept his Oscar virtually, as he would have been arrested if he came to the US.
