Zoheb Hassan Calls Out Sinf-e-Aahan For Copyrights Violation, Gets Trolled By Public [Video]

Sinf-e-Aahan

Sinf-a-Aahan used Nazia and Zoheb Hassan’s iconic song ‘Dosti‘ and veteran pop singer Zoheb Hassan is not happy. The 90s pop star tweeted how their song was used without permission.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) project is looking at a violation of intellectual property. To put it simple, when the song was used without the permission of the singer, Zoheb Hassan, there’s no doubt illegal use of someone’s content.

Sharing a video clip of the song being performed in the drama serial captioned;

“When will Pakistan abide by others’ copyright and intellectual property rights?”

The tweet has since been removed. The Boom Boom singer shared how ‘people’ ]were objecting to the use of the song in the military drama. He clarified he has no qualms against the iconic songs being used as the proceeds go to the Nazia Hassan Foundation for cancer research.

Some believe I objected re the #unauthorized use of my #Dosti song to extort money from #ISPR #sinfeahan. This is quite upsetting and false seeing all of Nazia and my song royalties go towards #charitableactivities in #Pakistan under #NaziaHassanfoundation.”

Syra Yousuf and Yehali Tashiya characters, Arzo and Nathmy, performed Dosti in the latest episode of Sinf-e-Aahan.

Zoheb Hassan also reshared a Facebook post by entertainment company B&H International Private Limited, which is the copyright owner of all songs written and composed by Nazia and Zoheb. The post, a notice of copyright infringement, read;

“It has come to our knowledge that below mentioned parties have used and commercially broadcast our song entitled Dosti, composed by Zoheb Hassan and sung originally by Nazia Hassan and Zoheb Hassan, without our prior consent or approval by producers or drama serial Sinf e Aahan. We therefore reserve our right to take action against all liable parties involved or associated with such infringement.”

This wouldn’t be the first time a huge platform failed to abide by copyright laws when using Nazia Hassan’s songs. Back in 2019, Zoheb Hassan called out Pakistan Super League (PSL) for using Nazia Hassan’s hit anthem Disco Deewane at opening of PSL without permission.
