A foot-in-the-mouth moment for the Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad actor

Recently, Fahad Mustafa made an ill-advised statement prior to the film’s release. In an interview, the actor urged his fans to watch Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad in cinemas. He told his fans that if they love him, they should be able to spend Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1200 on tickets to go see him on the big screen. The comment landed Fahad in hot waters as people took to social media to troll him. Check it out!

“If you love me,” Fahad asks his fans, “take out about Rs1,000 to Rs1,200 from your pockets and go watch my film.”

Given the current economic crisis and inflation in Pakistan, Fahad’s statement did not go down well with the public. The actor could’ve have just asked the fans to watch his film without mentioning the ticket price and avoided the public backlash.

Despite the controversial statement, Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is enjoying great success in cinemas nationwide. The film features Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan as the leads. Fahad Mustafa plays a super-cop this time. Director Nabeel Qureshi’s crime comedy revolves around Fahad Mustafa channeling his inner “Chulbul Pandey” as a no-nonsense cop. On the other hand, Mahira Khan’s character is more than just a “damsel in distress”.
