It looks like Hira Mani is in trouble again. Recently, the actress/”singer” took to her Instagram to promote a beauty cream to her fans. The Do Bol star reveals “secrets for a glowing, spotless skin with no blemishes or dark spot in 3 days.” In other words, Hira Mani is endorsing a skin whitening product!
Hira Mani should probably fire her agent because this advertisement is a mistake. Even the product’s name, “Skin White”, is a giant red flag! The Kashf star is facing public backlash on social media for endorsing such a racist product. Here’s what people are saying.
In this day and age, promoting whitening products is a bad move, especially in Pakistan and India where the natural skin tone is brown. Even international brands such has Fair & Lovely had to change their name to Glow & Lovely to appease the masses.
Hira Mani is a popular TV actress and model. She made a name for herself with hit drama serials like Do Bol, Kashf and Mere Pass Tum Ho. Other than acting, she also labels herself as a singer with her most recent single “Taare” with Raafay Israr. However, Hira’s work is overshadowed by her public persona of making ill-advised statements, or, in this case, promoting a bad product.
