Renowned Pakistani actor Shaukat Zaidi, aged 72, breathed his last in Lahore on Saturday night following an extended illness.
As per media sources, Zaidi had been undergoing kidney treatment at a private hospital in Lahore.
In addition to his successful acting career, he maintained ties with journalism from 1970 to 1998.
He had also written dramas for theatres for 10 years.
While he took on various roles in dramas, his outstanding talent particularly shone through in “Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain” and “Wafa Ka Mausam.”
He stole the spotlight by performing many characters in the renowned TV program “Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain”.
During the show, he performed the character of a person representing the poorest segment of society.
