sardaar ji 3 hania aamir diljit dosanjh

Punjabi blockbuster Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh and our very own Hania Aamir, is set to premiere across all Pakistani cinemas today. The film has received approval from all three Pakistani censor boards — Sindh, Punjab, and the federal board — clearing the way for its screening across the country.

Zain Wali of Wali Films, the film’s Pakistan distributor and one of its producers, confirmed the censor board approvals. Adding to the excitement, Hania Aamir shared a poster on her Instagram story announcing the film’s release in major Pakistani cinemas, writing simply, “See you :)” The poster lists prominent cinema chains such as Cinepax, Nueplex Cinemas (Karachi), Cue Cinemas (Lahore), and Centaurus Cineplex (Islamabad) as screening venues.

So far, Universal Cinemas Lahore and Centaurus Cineplex Islamabad have officially confirmed they will screen Sardaar Ji 3. Universal Cinemas announced the first show will start at 11:45 am on Friday, while Centaurus Cineplex said showtimes will be finalized and announced by 7 or 8 pm tonight. Both cinema chains have also promoted the film’s poster on their social media platforms.

However, Nueplex Cinemas in Karachi has stated they have not yet received any directive to screen the film, citing the ongoing ban on Indian films in Pakistan. A representative said, “The ban on Indian films is still very much in place. If we do get a notice to screen Sardaar Ji 3, we will announce it accordingly.”

Produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and Diljit Dosanjh, and made under White Hill Studios and Story Time Productions, Sardaar Ji 3 is an Indian Punjabi-language film. Despite being produced in India, it operates outside the mainstream Bollywood framework because White Hill Studios is registered in Vancouver, Canada. This unique status allows the film to bypass Pakistan’s official ban on Indian films, which has been in effect since a 2019 government directive amid political tensions.

The film’s release in Pakistan comes amid some controversy. Following the military escalation between India and Pakistan in May 2025, Sardaar Ji 3 has faced backlash in India due to Hania Aamir’s casting. Indian film bodies have called for a ban on both Dosanjh and the film’s makers. In response, Dosanjh defended the decision to release the film with Aamir outside India, citing financial reasons, and spoke warmly of the Pakistani actress.

While the filmmakers have not issued an official statement about the Pakistan release, the confirmations from local cinemas strongly indicate that Sardaar Ji 3 will be available to Pakistani audiences in select theaters starting this Friday.

This release marks a notable moment in cross-border cultural exchange, as Punjabi films continue to find audiences in Pakistan despite broader restrictions on Indian cinema. Fans of both stars are eagerly awaiting the film’s debut on the big screen.
