Hania Aamir’s Co-Star Unfollows Her Ahead of Sardaar Ji 3 Premiere

Sardaar Ji star Neeru Bajwa has unfollowed her co-star Hania Aamir and deleted all posts related to her Punjabi blockbuster after Indians attacked her online for working with a Pakistani artist.

Neeru Bajwa made this decision last night, a day before the film’s international release today. Neither actress has publicly commented on this development, but the move has raised eyebrows amid escalating tensions surrounding the film.

The backdrop to this situation is the increasing hostility faced by Indian actors who collaborate with Pakistani artists. Bajwa and fellow co-star Diljit Dosanjh have been targeted by extremist factions in India for their association with Hania Aamir, particularly following the military escalation between India and Pakistan in May.

The backlash against Indian actors for working with Pakistani talent highlights a disturbing trend of intolerance and extremism within segments of the Indian public.

Ironically, while Sardaar Ji 3 is set to premiere worldwide, including in Pakistan, it will not be released in India.

Producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu explained that the film was shot earlier this year, prior to the recent border tensions and restrictions. “There was no restriction from the Government of India or any other institution,” he stated. However, the decision to withhold the film from Indian audiences was made to avoid inflaming public sentiment. “We did not put the trailer on YouTube in India, nor did we do any promotional activities here,” he added.
