Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, the famous Pasoori duo, have teamed up once again to bring us something great, and we are ecstatic about it. This time, they will be collaborating with different artists around the world to work their magic once more.
The Pasoori singers told Haroon Rashid from the BBC Asian Network that they are working on something grand. Ali Sethi elaborated,
We are working on something together… actually, a bunch of things together. And it’s going to feature a lot of artists from around the world and some very unusual pairings. So let’s see what happens.
After the globally resounding success of his hit song Pasoori from Coke Studio season 14, Pakistani singer and songwriter Ali Sethi was featured in Time Magazine’s TIME100 Next list for 2022 in its ‘Innovators’ category for the hot single.
This one song truly surpassed all expectations and even transcended borders and managed to win the hearts of fans overall the world.
Writer Amitav Ghosh, praised the global hit for TIME100 Next saying, “Though written in Punjabi by a Pakistani artist, Ali Sethi’s song Pasoori has become a global sensation with close to 400 million views on YouTube. Even more remarkable, the song has found a huge following in neighboring India despite the escalating tensions between the two countries”.
Coke Studio Africa also dropped a rendition of the song in August, with a union of voices and beats from Nigeria and Egypt while keeping Sethi’s original lyrics in the remix alive.
