The incident occurred on May 15 when Amitabh Bachchan, known for his larger-than-life presence both on and off the screen, shared a photo on his social media accounts. The picture featured him and a random individual who had given him a lift on his bike amidst the chaotic traffic.
In the caption accompanying the photo, Bachchan expressed his gratitude, saying,
Thank you for the ride, buddy… don’t know you, but you obliged and got me to the location of work on time. Faster and in avoidance of the unsolvable traffic jams… thank you, capped, shorts, and yellowed T-shirt owner.
While Bachchan’s post was met with admiration from many fans, netizens soon noticed that the Bollywood legend had taken the time to have his photographer capture the moment, but apparently failed to learn the name of the man who had kindly helped him out.
The absence of helmets in the photograph became a matter of concern for several social media users.
They promptly reported the incident to the Mumbai Police, urging them to take appropriate action against the two celebrities for flouting traffic safety rules. Mumbai police immediately responded and said: “We have shared this with traffic branch.”
