The 2014 Army Public School massacre sent shock waves throughout the nation. Almost 150 people lost their lives and dozens were left with severe injuries after dastardly terrorists carried out their attack at the school.
Among the survivors was one Ahmad Nawaz. He almost left his arm during the siege.
Over the years, with continuous treatments at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, he has now recovered and is making us all proud.
Ahmad has secured a place at the prestigious Oxford University. Sharing a photo of himself on social media, he wrote,
“The terrorists shot me and brutally attacked my school to stop us from getting an education 5 years ago. Today I’m proud to share that I have secured a place to study at the University of Oxford!!”

This is truly a proud moment for the whole country, especially for Ahmad and his family.
In 2014, he witnessed his teachers being burned alive in the atrocity. His younger brother Haris, who was only 13, was also killed by the terrorists.
In order to survive, Ahmad Nawaz played dead. He was able to make it out of the incident alive.
More importantly, Ahmad Nawaz did not let a tragedy define his future and we applaud him for being so brave.
